Dungeon Crawl Classics Day Tournament Adventure with Theo Session 2

You enter Sarrix the Sagacious’ study. Shrouded in smoke, filled with ancient scrolls and tomes; strange ingredients and decoctions line the walls. He sits, hunched over a wooden desk, his hands frail and blackened from magic sickness grasp a feather quill. He wears an eyepatch on his left eye, shrouded by his long, wispy silver hair. He flashes a grin with his yellow teeth, stained by spices.

You have traveled a long and treacherous road from your modest villages and humble hovels to learn from this master wizard, who was said to be stingy and secretive, however occasionally willing to dispense information for those that truly desire it.

“You have all come to me because you want to know my secrets. Now… I seldom tell anybody my secrets, and when I do, it is not to anybody. To prove to me that you are worthy of this knowledge and that I should not cast my notes from years of careful study into the fire, you must do something for me in return… Beyond my tower you must fetch me two  things. The first item that you must bring to me is the scroll of the great dark warlock Haarkaaz the Terrible, the second being the ring of a giant chieftain. Both of these things you seek are in the mountain valleys to the East. Bring me these things and perhaps I will grant you what you traveled here to acquire. If you do not bring me these things I will give you nothing… Now go! Leave me to my work for I have important business to conduct!”

This is a tournament-style adventure for Dungeon Crawl Classics Day. The adventurers will have pregen characters available or will have the opportunity to roll a few characters. The adventurers will control one character at a time, keeping track of successful encounters. If a character dies, the adventurer will replace that character with a fresh character, and the adventure will continue. The player whose character has survived the most encounters wins. The winner will receive a Dungeon Crawl Classics care package that will help them start their own adventures!
